How has the site evolved since opening as an art-lovers destination?
Steeped in history and brimming with artistic energy, this historic mill complex has been transformed into a dynamic space where art, culture, and community converge.
From its humble beginnings as a historic mill, the Alton Mill has blossomed into a bustling hub of artistic expression. With each passing year, AMAC has expanded its repertoire, welcoming new artists, galleries, and events.
What was once a hidden gem tucked away in the Caledon hills has become a beacon for art enthusiasts near and far, drawing visitors from across Ontario to explore its eclectic mix of talent and inspiration.
But perhaps the most remarkable evolution of all is the sense of community that permeates every corner of the Centre. What began as a gathering place for artists and artisans has grown into a tight-knit family of creators, collaborators, and supporters, united by their shared love of art and expression.
From the beauty of our galleries to the lively buzz of workshops and events, the Alton Mill has truly become a must-see destination for anyone with a passion for creativity.

Recently WingsUp! Bolton celebrated their grand opening. We asked owners, Tejas Mehendale and Anu Joshi-Mehendale, to share a little about their new Bolton business.
Tell us about your business.
WingsUp! is the fastest growing Canadian chicken wing franchise offering takeout, delivery, and catering with dine-in and eat-in bar seating available at select locations. We specialize in 100% fresh, never frozen chicken that is hand cut, freshly battered & breaded then cooked to order. No heat lamps or heating trays. No additives or fillers. Only real chicken with exceptional taste.
Our flavour palate includes 18 delicious flavours from classic, sweet, bold to spicy and dry seasoned. Serving Southern Ontario since 1988, with locations across Ontario presently and soon to be Bolton.
Tell us about you, why did you decide to open your own business?
With 33 locations currently and 5 to open soon including Bolton, we are constantly striving for more. Our mission is to provide all of our guests with a truly fresh and satisfying comfort food experience. Everyday we provide the best quality food and service to turn each guest into a loyal enthusiast. Owning another business not only helps us strengthen our company but grow closer and cater closer to our customers — the most important people.
Why did you decide to locate in Bolton?
We want to cater to more cities in Ontario and already living in the Bolton/Caledon area only made us want to operate a store there even more. Having a location in the Bolton area will make it easier for customers who are within the area to order to a location closer to them, making it much more convenient as that is what we strive for. Moreover, who doesn’t love chicken wings?
What is your favourite item that you make at WingsUp and why?
My favourite item to make at WingsUp! are the chicken bites. It's the same process as making the wings, where we toss them in any of our 18 sauces. I also love the chicken bites the best so it’s always more enjoyable making something you love, not only that, but nothing is also ever frozen so cooking with our chicken is a breeze.
What is the best bit of wisdom you have learned along the way?
Believe in yourself and keep going, once you put your mind towards something you can achieve anything.

Recently COBS BREAD Bolton Country Plaza celebrated their grand opening in Bolton. We asked owner, Mary Deltin, to tell us a little about the business and why she chose COBS as the business she wanted to run.
Tell us about your business.
We are COBS BREAD Bolton Country Plaza. COBS Bread is part of Bakers Delight, an Australian bakery franchise established in 1980 by Roger and Lesley Gillespie. Since expanding from a multi-generational family business, we’ve grown to over 700 bakeries in communities around the world, including 145 bakeries across Canada.
We bake fresh every day and donate all leftover bread to local Bolton charities: The Exchange, Aspira Retirement Living, Caledon Senior Centre, ShipShey Peace Ranch.
We are open from 6am - 8pm Monday to Saturday, and 6am - 7pm on Sundays.
Tell us about you, why did you decide to open your own business?
I am a local resident (live in Caledon) and have many family members who also live in Caledon. My son plays for the Caledon Hawks!
I have always been passionate about giving back to the community, and after I learned about COBS and their End of Day Giving program, I knew I wanted to be a part of the COBS family. I am passionate about my family, my pets, and baking! I love making pizzas at home; I even make my own dough!
Why did you decide to locate in Bolton?
I am a local resident, as I live in Caledon with my family (husband and 3 kids). My husband grew up playing at the local rinks, and we have family who live here.
Our family had a butcher shop here in town (husband's great grandparents). My husband's grandfather worked for the Toronto Region Conservation Authority, and patrolled Albion Hills, Glen Haffey and Heart Lake. Bolton is a growing town with lots of potential and lovely people.
What is your favourite item that you make at COBS?
I LOVE the chocolate scone and love making grilled cheese with the sourdough! My kids love it, too!
What is the best bit of wisdom you have learned along the way?
Patience and kindness matter. Everyone has been so supportive, kind and patient through this whole process.
